Working at Chungdahm Learning
EXCLUSIVITY The instructor agrees to work exclusively for CHUNGDAHM during the period of the services agreement.
SERVICES AND AGREEMENT The agreement to be employed by CHUNGDAHM is for the period of one year, with the option of renewal upon agreement of both instructor and CHUNGDAHM. The length of the renewed agreement is negotiable.
WORKING HOURS All CHUNGDAHM instructors are guaranteed a minimum of 24 teaching hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Some school locations also offer Sunday classes. While many CHUNGDAHM schools are open for business 7 days of the week, it does not mean you will work every day. You will receive a 4 to 5 day schedule (on average) with two to three days off per week (i.e. Tuesday to Saturday, Sunday and Monday off).
SALARY CHUNGDAHM is known for offering some of the highest salaries in the industry. Monthly and hourly options are available at most CHUNGDAHM schools. Monthly salaries range from 2.0 to 2.8 million KRW, for up to 120 hours per month. Hourly wages range from 25,000 to 35,000 KRW per hour with at least 96 hours guaranteed per month. Candidates will be notified of their offer of employment a few days after the final interview.
The hourly salary option provides a higher hourly wage than you would earn on the monthly salary option and therefore a higher monthly income. Unlike other institutes, CHUNGDAHM guarantees a minimum of 96 hours/month (provided that you start full time employment at the beginning of one of the four academic terms), but the average is approximately 118 hours. You will be informed of your hourly wage upon receiving an offer of employment. Important note, income on the hourly option is taxed at a mere 3.3%. HOUSING OPTION The monthly salary option includes a semi-furnished single apartment with fully paid rent (utilities are paid by the instructor). The hourly salary option does not provide rent-free housing however the instructor makes a much higher wage in return.
INSURANCE The monthly salary option also includes 50% of the medical insurance plan cost paid by the company. Instructors choosing the hourly salary option can purchase their own insurance at a very minimal cost from within Korea or abroad.
VACATIONS The monthly salary option includes up to 7 days of paid vacation, while the hourly salary option includes up to 7 days of unpaid vacation.
AIRFARE All successful applicants invited to join CHUNGDAHM must arrange for and pay for their own flight to Korea. CHUNGDAHM will reimburse the applicant either the full cost or up to one million KRW depending on the location.

All classrooms are equipped with computers and internet access, whiteboards, and 42¡± televisions for speaking and listening exercises. Every branch has an instructor lounge equipped with coffee, tea, snacks and personal lockers.
The company has also invested $1 million into a complete web-based administration system to help manage students. Students are given identification cards that are scanned when entering the facility. When their names are not registered for their scheduled classes, an automatic text message is sent to their parents¡¯ mobile phones to notify them of their child¡¯s lateness or absence.
The online administration system also provides a tool to record grades, student progress and student issues which parents can immediately access through our homepage. Staff members will also communicate with the students parents if required, eliminating the need for teachers to speak directly with parents.
